After reviewing the different instructional design models that we have studied there is one in particular that really caught my attention and that I feel would be beneficial in creating my minicourse which would be the UbD Model. The reason I feel the UbD model would be the best for minicourse is because it focuses on the end goal first so the learning outcome is identified first. This backwards approach would work best for my mini course because by focusing on the learning outcomes the modules can be tailored to ensure they meet those needs through the activities, assessments and feedback. I also love that it is very student-centered so the activities should reflect this. Having assessments embedded throughout the course as check-ins will be beneficial for the learner and for me to monitor the progress and make adjustments as needed.
