FINDING WORK-LIFE BALANCE
MODULE 2 - How a shut down ritual can benefit you
Learners will focus on setting personalized work-life boundaries through implementing a shut down ritual and reflecting on their week to see what challenges and successes they had to improve the following week.
Learning Objective: Identify what an effective shut down routine looks like. (Aligns with CLO 4)

Learning Activities:
-Learners will journal what they believe an ideal shut down ritual looks like to allow them to transition from work to home.
-Learners will draft a checklist of tasks they can accomplish at the end of the workday to have a system for their shut down routine.

Assessment Strategies:
-Learners will do a self-reflection where they can discuss when and how they can start implementing their checklist for their shutdown routine.
-Learners will choose a number from 1 to 5 where 1 is not at all and 5 is absolutely where they will rate how likely is their shut down routine going to help them have an easier transition from work to home.
Learning Objective: Develop a personalized transition routine from work to home that adheres to work hours. ​ (Aligns with CLO 4)

Learning Activities:
-Learners will finalize their checklist for their shut down routine and implement it.

-Learners will document on a time tracking document how much time was spent transitioning from work to home, continue to document throughout the week to see if their checklist for their shut down routine is making a difference.

Assessment Strategies:
-Learners will do a self-reflection in their journal where they will answer the following questions:

Did you notice a decrease in time spent transitioning from work to home after implementing your checklist?

Did you find anything diffcult to achieve, may need to adjust on your checklist?
-Learners will create a visual graph to help track their time spent during the week during their transition from work to home.
Learning Objective: Identify events that happened during the week that were significant and document them either digitally or manually. (Aligns with CLO 6)

Learning Activities:
-Learners will write in their journal one strength of the week, one challenge and what they will do differently for the upcoming week.

-Learners will discuss how the positive and negative impacted their week, affected their work-life balance they are trying to achieve.

Assessment Strategies:
-Learners will do a self-reflection where they will set a goal for the upcoming week based on what they struggled with this week.
-Learners will choose a GIF that represents different emotions to gauge how the learner is doing.
Learning Objective: Reflect on ways to improve for the following week based on areas that were challenging. ​(Aligns with CLO 6)

-Learners will watch Tips to Structure your Day by Brian Tracy to get ideas on how to prepare for the following week.

-Learners will reflect on how the challenges they experienced affected them and if those challenges may be something that can be avoided in the future.

Assessment Strategies:
-Learners will create a vision board with only pictures to show their ideal day based on overcoming the challenges they experienced.
-Learners will reflect on why structuring your day is beneficial to have a positive work-life balance.
